I was born in the small city of Talcher in the state of Odisha in India. After finishing my B. Tech and M.Tech in Biotechnology and biochemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, I joined IST Austria in 2017. I joined the Joesch Group in May 2018 and am studying attention-like processes in Drosophila. Specifically, I want to understand the neuronal correlates of selective visual attention by investigating the modulation of and interaction between optomotor response and courtship tracking.
When I am not in the lab, I engage in generic human activities like reading books (Sci-fi, dystopia, historical fiction), watching movies and listening to music.
