My research interest focus on the evolution of neural circuits and the emergence of function. To tackle this question, I have been working on two complementary approaches: comparative neuroanatomy of binocular vision and micro-connectomics / physiology of sensory-motor circuits in birds and mammals. At the Neuroethology Group, I am standing on the mammalian side, using the mouse as a model. Here, I aim to unravel and manipulate the subcortical thalamo-midbrain recurrent network involved in sensorimotor transformations under visually-guided behaviors.
